CVE-2022-21123, Shared Buffers Data Read (SBDR), is an Intel Processor MMIO Stale Data vulnerability caused by incomplete cleanup of multi-core shared transaction buffers on affected Intel client and Xeon E3 processor families. On affected processors, an MMIO read wider than four bytes can return stale transaction-buffer contents directly into software-visible architectural state, rather than only the requested data. Stale data may also be propagated into core fill buffers, where other unmitigated microarchitectural data-sampling techniques could potentially infer it.
