Shared Buffers Data Sampling (SBDS) is an Intel Processor MMIO Stale Data vulnerability caused by incomplete cleanup of microarchitectural fill buffers on affected Intel client and Xeon E3 processor-family systems. Stale data associated with MMIO-related transactions can propagate through fill-buffer, sideband, or primary paths into a core fill buffer. The stale data is not directly exposed architecturally by SBDS; it may subsequently be inferred using an applicable Microarchitectural Fill Buffer Data Sampling (MFBDS) technique. Intel classifies the flaw as a stale-data propagation issue rather than a transient-execution vulnerability itself.
