CVE-2022-26049 affects the package com.diffplug.gradle:goomph before version 3.37.2. The vulnerability is caused by unsafe extraction of ZIP archive entries, allowing a malicious ZIP file to use crafted paths to escape the intended destination directory during extraction and write files to arbitrary locations on the filesystem. This is a classic archive extraction path traversal (Zip Slip) condition. According to the provided content, exploitation could occur if a custom bootstrap ZIP was configured and that ZIP was malicious. The default extracted files—the p2 bootstrapper and Eclipse metadata files hosted at eclipse.org—are not malicious, so default usage is not the primary exposure scenario.
