CVE-2022-26711 is an integer overflow vulnerability in Apple software. Improper handling of integer values could permit a remote attacker to trigger unexpected application termination or execute arbitrary code. Apple addressed the issue through improved input validation.

This repository provides a proof-of-concept (POC) exploit for CVE-2022-26711, an integer overflow vulnerability in Apple's ImageIO framework when parsing WebP images. The repository contains a build script (build_harness_standalone.sh) to compile a standalone Objective-C harness (harness_standalone.m) that loads and processes a supplied WebP image file (intoverflow.webp). The harness disables ImageIO logging, loads the image data, and attempts to render it, which triggers the vulnerability and causes a crash (EXC_BAD_ACCESS) in vulnerable versions of macOS and iOS. Additionally, a minimal HTML file (trigger.html) is provided to demonstrate exploitation via a browser by loading the malicious image. The exploit demonstrates the crash but does not provide arbitrary code execution. The repository is structured for easy testing of the vulnerability in both local and browser contexts, and is intended for research and demonstration purposes.
