CVE-2022-31107 is an improper authentication vulnerability in Grafana's OAuth login account-linking logic. In affected versions from 5.3 through releases preceding the respective fixes, Grafana can associate a newly authenticated OAuth identity with an existing local Grafana account based on an attacker-controlled OAuth login name. An OAuth-authorized attacker whose external identity and email address are not already linked to Grafana can set their OAuth-provider username to the username of a target Grafana user and authenticate through the OAuth flow, causing Grafana to log the attacker into the target account.
