CVE-2022-3628 is an intra-object buffer overflow in the Linux kernel Broadcom FullMAC Wi-Fi driver, brcmfmac. In brcmf_fweh_event_worker(), an attacker-controlled device event can supply a bsscfgidx value greater than or equal to the BRCMF_MAX_IFS interface-array bound. The driver subsequently accesses the interface-pointer array using that invalid index, causing an out-of-bounds access and memory corruption. The upstream fix validates bsscfgidx before indexing and safely discards invalid events.
