CVE-2022-41725 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Go's mime/multipart.Reader.ReadForm and net/http request methods that invoke multipart parsing: FormFile, FormValue, ParseMultipartForm, and PostFormValue. The vulnerable parser failed to account for multipart metadata overhead, including map entries, part names, and MIME headers, allowing crafted forms to consume memory substantially beyond the documented maxMemory plus 10 MB allowance. It also imposed no limit on the number of temporary files created for file parts, allowing relatively small multipart requests to create many files and exhaust filesystem inodes. The fixed implementation accounts for parsing overhead and coalesces file parts into at most one temporary file.
