CVE-2022-43704 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in the Sinilink XY-WFT1 WiFi Remote Thermostat running firmware 1.3.6. The device is intended to be controlled through an authenticated MQTT and mobile-application workflow, but it also accepts Sinilink protocol commands over UDP that can be replayed directly to the device. Because the device does not adequately verify that the communicating party is an authorized endpoint and does not sufficiently protect against replay of valid protocol traffic, an attacker can bypass the intended authentication path and interface directly with the thermostat. Successful exploitation allows unauthorized control of the onboard relay, which can alter the thermostat's operation and affect the physical environment it regulates.

This repository provides an operational exploit for CVE-2022-43704, targeting the Sinilink XY-WFTX WiFi Remote Thermostat running firmware V1.3.6. The exploit leverages a vulnerability where the device's UDP protocol on port 1024 can be accessed directly, allowing unauthenticated attackers to retrieve device information and control the relay (e.g., turn heating/cooling on or off) by sending crafted UDP packets. The main exploit script, 'sinibreak.py', is a Python script that first retrieves device status (MAC address, temperature, relay state) and then sends a payload to manipulate the relay, followed by another status check. The README provides detailed product information, attack surface mapping, and usage instructions. The attack vector is network-based, requiring access to the device's UDP port 1024. Several endpoints are referenced, including the device's IP:1024 and the MQTT broker used by the device for cloud communication. The exploit is operational, requiring specific device configuration but providing direct unauthenticated control over the device's relay.
