CVE-2022-4744 is a double-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel TUN/TAP driver. When TUN device registration fails because a NETDEV_REGISTER notifier rejects the new device, the error-handling path can invoke tun_free_netdev() in a manner that frees the same resource twice. The failure can be triggered by attempting to register a device using a name reserved by IPv4 network-device sysctl handling.
