CVE-2022-50055 is a resource-management flaw in the Linux kernel iavf virtual-function Ethernet driver. The driver allocates DMA-coherent memory for its Admin Send Queue (ASQ) and Admin Receive Queue (ARQ) mailbox buffers through iavf_alloc_asq_bufs and iavf_alloc_arq_bufs. If configuration of the corresponding ASQ or ARQ registers fails, affected code paths do not release both allocated DMA regions. The leaked coherent DMA allocations remain pending when the interface or driver is unloaded.

A Linux kernel iavf driver resource-leak flaw in Admin Queue error handling. Failed ASQ/ARQ register configuration can leave DMA-coherent memory allocations unreleased, producing pending DMA allocations when the interface/device is unloaded.
A vulnerability included in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 kernel advisory; no further technical description is supplied in the content.
