CVE-2022-50318 is a missing-resource-release vulnerability in the Linux kernel Intel uncore performance-monitoring subsystem. In hswep_has_limit_sbox(), pci_get_device() acquires a PCI-device reference, but the reference was not released after the device was used for PCI configuration-space access. Repeated execution can accumulate unreleased device references. The fix releases the acquired reference with pci_dev_put() immediately after use.
