CVE-2023-1405 affects the Formidable Forms WordPress plugin before version 6.2. The vulnerability arises because the plugin unserializes user-controlled input. If attacker-supplied serialized data is passed to PHP unserialize() and a suitable gadget chain is available in the target environment, an anonymous attacker can trigger PHP Object Injection. The issue is therefore rooted in unsafe deserialization of untrusted data in the plugin’s request handling logic.
