CVE-2023-20048 is an improper authorization vulnerability in the web services interface of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. The flaw affects the handling of configuration commands sent from FMC to managed Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) devices. Due to insufficient authorization checks on configuration commands transmitted through the web services interface, an authenticated remote attacker can submit a crafted HTTP request and cause certain unauthorized configuration commands to be executed on a targeted managed FTD device. The issue does not require code execution on FMC itself; instead, it enables abuse of the management plane to perform actions on downstream managed security appliances.

This repository contains two Python scripts targeting CVE-2023-20048, a command injection vulnerability in Cisco RV Series routers (or similar devices exposing /form2ping.cgi). The main files are: - CiscoPoC.py: A proof-of-concept script that authenticates to the router's web interface and tests for the vulnerability by injecting a harmless command (echo 'Vulnerable') via the /form2ping.cgi endpoint. It reports whether the device is vulnerable based on the response. - CiscoRCE.py: An exploit script that, after authenticating, injects a reverse shell payload into the same endpoint, causing the target device to connect back to the attacker's machine and provide a root shell. Both scripts require valid admin credentials and network access to the target's HTTPS web interface. The exploit leverages command injection in the 'ip' parameter of /form2ping.cgi. The repository also includes a README with usage instructions, a license, and a legal notice emphasizing ethical use. No hardcoded endpoints or credentials are present; all are supplied via command-line arguments. The exploit is operational, providing a working reverse shell payload, but is not part of a larger framework.
