CVE-2023-20110 is an SQL injection vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Smart Software Manager On-Prem. The flaw is caused by inadequate validation of user-supplied input in application requests processed by the management interface. An authenticated remote attacker with low privileges can submit crafted SQL queries to the affected application, causing unintended database queries to be executed. Successful exploitation allows access to sensitive information stored in the underlying database.

This repository provides a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2023-20110, an authenticated SQL injection vulnerability in Cisco Smart Software Manager On-Prem (Release 8-202212). The main exploit is implemented in 'exploit.py', a Python script that targets the '/backend/notifications/search_account_notifications.json' endpoint over HTTPS on port 8443. The script requires the attacker to supply valid admin session cookies and the target's IP address. It performs an error-based SQL injection via the 'filter_by' parameter, allowing the attacker to enumerate the backend database version (DBMS banner). The exploit demonstrates the vulnerability by extracting the version string character by character, using the presence of a specific error message ('PG::DivisionByZero') as an indicator. The repository also includes a Ruby script ('test.rb') that appears to be a helper or test for constructing the SQL payload, but the main exploit logic resides in 'exploit.py'. No hardcoded endpoints or credentials are present; the user must supply these. The exploit is a proof-of-concept and does not provide weaponized or post-exploitation capabilities.
