CVE-2023-25577 is an uncontrolled resource-consumption vulnerability in Werkzeug versions earlier than 2.2.3. The multipart form-data parser accepted an unlimited number of parts, including file parts. Although individual parts may be very small, parsing each incurs CPU overhead and can allocate Python objects; file parts can additionally consume memory and file descriptors. A crafted multipart request directed to an application endpoint that accesses parsed request content can therefore cause excessive resource use and denial of service.
