CVE-2023-26602 affects ASUS ASMB8 iKVM firmware through version 1.14.51. The firmware exposes SNMP functionality that permits creation of NET-SNMP-EXTEND-MIB extensions. An unauthenticated or otherwise network-reachable attacker can use SNMP set operations, such as via snmpset, to define an extension invoking /bin/sh, resulting in arbitrary command execution on the target BMC/iKVM environment. The issue is effectively an OS command injection / unsafe command execution condition in the device's SNMP extend handling.

This repository provides a detailed proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit for CVE-2023-26602, targeting ASUS ASMB8 iKVM devices with firmware <= 1.14.51. The exploit leverages SNMPv2 with write access to the private community string to create arbitrary SNMP extensions, enabling remote command execution as root. The PoC demonstrates how to use snmpset to define and execute commands, including downloading and running a reverse shell binary (generated with msfvenom) and modifying /etc/passwd to create a persistent root user for SSH access. The repository consists of a main text file (NWSSA-002-2023.txt) containing the exploit steps, commands, and context, and a brief README. No actual exploit scripts are provided; instead, the repository documents the attack methodology and required commands. The attack vector is network-based, requiring SNMP access to the target device. Several fingerprintable endpoints are referenced, including the target IP, file paths on the device, and a URL for binary delivery. The exploit is a high-impact, critical RCE with potential for full system compromise.
