CVE-2023-3022 is a vulnerability in the IPv6 module of the Linux kernel, specifically in the fib6_rule_lookup function. The function inconsistently assigns the arg.result variable to either an rt6_info or a fib6_info structure. Other parts of the code, such as fib6_rule_suppress, unconditionally expect arg.result to be an rt6_info, leading to a potential type confusion. This can result in a kernel panic when the code attempts to access members of rt6_info on a fib6_info object.
