CVE-2023-31084 is a Linux kernel DVB frontend subsystem flaw in drivers/media/dvb-core/dvb_frontend.c. In dvb_frontend_get_event(), wait_event_interruptible() evaluates a condition that invokes dvb_frontend_test_event(). That function acquires fepriv->sem through down(), which can block. Consequently, a potentially blocking semaphore acquisition is performed while evaluating a wait-event condition after the task may have entered a non-running sleep state, creating an invalid blocking-operation condition.
