CVE-2023-3212 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel GFS2 filesystem inode-eviction path. When processing a corrupted GFS2 filesystem, gfs2_evict_inode() can invoke gfs2_trans_begin() after the associated journal descriptor has been freed and its pointer set to NULL. The subsequent reference to that journal descriptor dereferences NULL and crashes the kernel.
