CVE-2023-32443 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Apple macOS affecting the sips scriptable image processing system during processing of crafted files containing malformed ICC color profile data. The flaw was addressed through improved input validation. When sips parses a malicious file, it can read memory beyond the intended buffer boundaries, causing application instability and potentially exposing process memory contents. Apple fixed the issue in macOS Ventura 13.5, macOS Monterey 12.6.8, and macOS Big Sur 11.7.9.
