CVE-2023-39193 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Linux kernel Netfilter Xtables SCTP packet-matching implementation. The SCTP match validation routine, sctp_mt_check(), fails to validate the flag_count field before match_flags() processes it, permitting a crafted SCTP xtables rule configuration to read beyond intended kernel-memory bounds. The affected functionality is associated with the xt_sctp kernel module.
