CVE-2023-39198 is a race condition in the Linux kernel QXL graphics driver. In qxl_mode_dumb_create(), the QXL GEM object returned by qxl_gem_object_create_with_handle() is dereferenced although the newly created handle is its sole reference. An attacker able to predict the returned handle can race its reference lifecycle, causing the object to be freed before it is dereferenced and thereby triggering a use-after-free condition.
