CVE-2023-4132 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Siano SMS USB (smsusb) driver. During initialization of a connected Siano USB device, failure of smscore_start_device() invokes smsusb_term_device(), which deallocates the smsusb device object. Although USB transfer requests are cancelled, worker threads scheduled from the response-processing path can remain active and subsequently access the freed object. The resulting invalid memory access can crash the kernel.
