CVE-2023-42114 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Exim's SPA/NTLM authentication subsystem while handling NTLM challenge requests. Insufficient validation of attacker-supplied data can cause Exim to read past the end of an allocated data structure. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit the flaw to disclose limited sensitive information accessible to the Exim service account. The vulnerability is also tracked as ZDI-23-1468 and has a CVSS v3 score of 3.7.
