CVE-2023-42326 is an authenticated command injection vulnerability in Netgate pfSense Plus and pfSense CE, including pfSense 2.7.0, affecting the WebGUI components used to create or edit GIF and GRE interfaces. In the interfaces_gif_edit.php and interfaces_gre_edit.php handlers, the submitted POST parameter used to identify the interface is not properly validated before being passed into downstream functionality that constructs shell commands. Because attacker-controlled input can reach shell command execution without sufficient sanitization, a user with access to the affected administrative interface can supply crafted values and trigger arbitrary code execution on the underlying firewall system.

1 valid exploit after Mallory filtered fakes, detection scripts, and README-only repos.
This repository contains a Python proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2023-42326, a command injection vulnerability in pfSense 2.7.0. The exploit targets authenticated admin users and leverages vulnerable parameters in the 'interfaces_gif_edit.php' and 'interfaces_gre_edit.php' components. The main script, 'pf-pwnme.py', automates the process of logging in, extracting CSRF tokens, and sending malicious payloads to the vulnerable endpoints. The payload can be any shell command, including reverse shell commands using netcat. The exploit requires valid admin credentials and network access to the pfSense web interface. The repository is structured with a single exploit script, a README providing usage instructions and examples, and a license file. No detection or fake code is present; the exploit is functional and demonstrates the vulnerability as a POC.
