CVE-2023-45863 is an out-of-bounds write in the Linux kernel kobject implementation in lib/kobject.c before Linux kernel 6.2.3. A race during kernel-module load or unload can affect kobject path construction: fill_kobj_path may write beyond its allocated buffer while kobject_get_path is operating. The vulnerability requires an attacker that already has local root-level privileges to trigger the race.
