CVE-2023-46865 is a vulnerability in Crater (through version 6.0.6) where the /api/v1/company/upload-logo endpoint in CompanyController.php allows a superadmin to execute arbitrary PHP code. This is achieved by embedding PHP code within the IDAT chunk of a PNG image uploaded as a company logo. The application fails to properly validate or sanitize the uploaded image, leading to the execution of the embedded code.

This repository contains a working exploit for CVE-2023-46865, a post-authentication remote code execution vulnerability in Crater Invoice <=6.0.6. The exploit is implemented in a single Python script ('crater-rce.py') and is accompanied by a README.md with usage instructions and vulnerability details. The exploit requires valid superadmin credentials to authenticate to the target Crater instance. It abuses the company logo upload functionality at '/api/v1/company/upload-logo' by uploading a specially crafted PNG file with an embedded PHP webshell in the IDAT chunk. After successful upload, the script locates the webshell URL via the '/api/v1/bootstrap' endpoint and executes arbitrary commands by sending POST requests to the webshell. The exploit demonstrates a full attack chain from authentication, file upload, webshell deployment, to command execution. The repository is a proof-of-concept but provides a functional payload and automation, making it operational. No hardcoded target endpoints are present; the script takes the target URL and credentials as arguments.
