CVE-2023-52477 is a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel USB hub subsystem. Multiple functions access Binary Object Store (BOS) descriptor fields through udev->bos without verifying that the descriptor was allocated and initialized. If usb_get_bos_descriptor() fails, udev->bos remains NULL, and subsequent accesses can crash the kernel. The observed fault occurs in hub_port_reset() during USB hub event processing. The fix guards descriptor-dependent operations and falls back to default behavior when the BOS descriptor is unavailable.
