CVE-2023-52574 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel team networking driver. When a VLAN device is enslaved to a team device and the team device type changes from non-Ethernet to Ethernet, the team device can incorrectly receive vlan_header_ops. Subsequent header processing invokes vlan_dev_hard_header() with the team device treated as a VLAN device, causing a NULL dereference of vlan->real_dev. The upstream fix caches eth_header_ops during team device setup and assigns those cached operations when the device type changes to Ethernet.
