CVE-2023-52595 is a denial-of-service flaw in the Linux kernel rt2x00 Wi-Fi driver. A hardware reset clears hardware registers and stops hardware queues, but mac80211 does not automatically stop and restart the beacon queue. If the rt2x00 driver does not explicitly restart that queue after ieee80211_restart_hw(), the beacon queue can remain deadlocked and unable to resume operation. The resulting access point state prevents Apple devices from connecting.
