CVE-2023-52653 is a memory-leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel SUNRPC GSS/Kerberos version-2 security-context import path. On an error path in gss_import_v2_context, memory allocated with kmemdup for ctx->mech_used.data is not released. Its caller, gss_krb5_import_sec_context, frees the context structure on error but does not free this separately allocated member. The upstream correction routes the final import call through gss_krb5_import_ctx_v2, preserving return behavior while ensuring the allocation is released appropriately.
