CVE-2023-52669 is an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel cryptographic subsystem's s390 AES implementation when processing data in CTR mode. For a final input fragment smaller than an AES block, the affected code reads a full block rather than restricting processing to the remaining input length. The fix copies only the actual remaining length into a temporary buffer before cryptographic processing.
