CVE-2023-52703 is an error-handling flaw in the Linux kernel Kalmia USB networking driver. During initialization packet transmission, the driver could use the actual-length variable on a USB bulk-transfer failure path before that variable had been initialized. The correction removes use of the actual-length value from USB bulk-message error handling, preventing propagation or reporting of indeterminate data.
