CVE-2023-52781 is an iteration flaw in the Linux kernel USB configuration subsystem's usb_get_bos_descriptor() function. While parsing a Binary Object Store (BOS) descriptor, the function can encounter a descriptor that is not of type USB_DT_DEVICE_CAPABILITY. The affected control flow skips that descriptor without advancing the descriptor pointer or updating the remaining byte count, causing the same descriptor to be processed repeatedly rather than progressing through the BOS descriptor sequence.
