CVE-2023-52798 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel ath11k Wi-Fi driver. DFS radar-event handling calls ath11k_mac_get_ar_by_pdev_id() to access active physical-device state protected by Read-Copy-Update (RCU), but did not execute within an RCU read-side critical section. Concurrent removal or reclamation of the referenced device state can therefore leave the handler operating on freed memory. The upstream correction wraps the affected lookup and handling path in an RCU read-side critical section.
