A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's SUNRPC subsystem, specifically in the cleanup of RPC client pipefs dentries. The issue arises because the rpc_remove_pipedir() workqueue may operate on a newly allocated pipefs superblock (sb) that is not the original one held by the client. This can result in the cleanup function erroneously accessing and freeing already released pipefs dentries, leading to a use-after-free condition. The bug is detectable by KASAN and is triggered during the cleanup of RPC client directories when the pipefs superblock is rapidly freed and reallocated.
