CVE-2023-52885 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel SUNRPC TCP server callback svc_tcp_listen_data_ready(). During a race between destruction of an NFSD/SUNRPC TCP listener and acceptance of an established child socket, the child socket can retain copied sk_user_data that points to the freed listener svc_sock. If the child receives data before svc_tcp_accept() processes it, svc_tcp_listen_data_ready() can dereference the stale object. The fix prevents the callback from dereferencing the service socket when the TCP socket state is no longer TCP_LISTEN.
