CVE-2023-52975 is a use-after-free race in the Linux kernel SCSI iSCSI-over-TCP transport driver (iscsi_tcp). During iSCSI session logout and teardown, the session-associated SCSI host object can be freed while another task concurrently reads the SCSI host IP-address sysfs attribute. The attribute retrieval path, including iscsi_sw_tcp_host_get_param, can then access freed memory while session destruction proceeds through iscsi_session_teardown and iscsi_sw_tcp_session_destroy. KASAN observed the stale access during spinlock acquisition.
