CVE-2023-53047 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel AMD Trusted Execution Environment (AMD TEE) driver. In amdtee_open_session, the session-mask bit could be set before the corresponding session information was stored. A concurrent amdtee_close_session operation could observe the mask bit, close the same session, and release the session structure while amdtee_open_session continued to access it. The upstream fix makes setting the session-mask bit the final step of session opening.
