The ses_enclosure_data_process() routine insufficiently validates descriptor-pointer positions and associated lengths while parsing SES enclosure data, allowing desc_ptr to reference memory outside the intended buffer. The upstream fix sanitizes and bounds-checks descriptor pointers before use.
