CVE-2023-53833 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel DRM i915 graphics driver. A code path uses the result of intel_atomic_get_new_crtc_state without verifying that it is non-NULL. That function may return NULL when the corresponding CRTC state was not previously obtained through intel_atomic_get_crtc_state. The resolved fix adds the required NULL check before the returned CRTC state is dereferenced.
