CVE-2024-11831 is an improper input-sanitization vulnerability in the npm serialize-javascript package. Serialization of certain JavaScript object types, including regular expressions, can produce attacker-controlled JavaScript that is not safely escaped. When the resulting serialized value is delivered to a browser and embedded in an executable client-side context, the injected code can execute as cross-site scripting.
