CVE-2024-1300 is a memory-leak vulnerability in Eclipse Vert.x Core TCP servers configured for TLS with Server Name Indication (SNI). When a client supplies an SNI hostname that has no mapped certificate and is therefore served using the default certificate, Vert.x incorrectly caches the associated SSL context in its server-name map. Repeated handshakes using distinct arbitrary unrecognized server names cause the cache to grow without being released, exhausting JVM heap memory.
