CVE-2024-13985 is a command injection vulnerability affecting Dahua EIMS versions prior to 2240008. The flaw is present in the capture_handle.action interface, where the captureCommand parameter is processed without adequate input validation or sanitization and without requiring authentication. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send crafted HTTP requests containing OS command metacharacters or appended shell commands, causing arbitrary system commands to be executed by the underlying operating system in the security context of the vulnerable application. Successful exploitation can result in full compromise of the affected system.
