CVE-2024-21138 is a difficult-to-exploit vulnerability in the HotSpot component of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, and Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Affected releases include Oracle Java SE 8u411, 8u411-perf, 11.0.23, 17.0.11, 21.0.3, and 22.0.1; GraalVM for JDK 17.0.11, 21.0.3, and 22.0.1; and GraalVM Enterprise Edition 20.3.14 and 21.3.10. An unauthenticated attacker may reach vulnerable HotSpot APIs through multiple network protocols, including indirectly through an application or web service that passes attacker-controlled data to those APIs. The issue also affects sandboxed Java Web Start or applet deployments that execute untrusted code while relying on the Java sandbox.
