CVE-2024-21145 is a difficult-to-exploit vulnerability in the 2D component of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, and Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. It affects Oracle Java SE 8u411, 8u411-perf, 11.0.23, 17.0.11, 21.0.3, and 22.0.1; GraalVM for JDK 17.0.11, 21.0.3, and 22.0.1; and GraalVM Enterprise Edition 20.3.14 and 21.3.10. An unauthenticated network attacker can exploit the issue through multiple protocols, including by supplying data to affected 2D APIs through a web service. The issue also affects sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets that execute untrusted code and rely on Java sandbox protections.
