CVE-2024-22774 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in Varex Imaging AJAT Panoramic Dental Imaging Software affecting versions prior to 6.6.1.490. The issue is described as an uncontrolled search path element in the ccsservice.exe component, which enables DLL hijacking. A local attacker with standard user privileges can place a malicious DLL in a location that is searched by the vulnerable service and cause it to be loaded by the privileged process. Successful exploitation results in execution in the security context of NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
