CVE-2024-25153 is a critical directory traversal vulnerability in the 'ftpservlet' component of Fortra FileCatalyst Workflow Web Portal (versions 5.0 up to, but not including, 5.1.6 Build 114). The flaw allows remote unauthenticated attackers to upload files outside the intended 'uploadtemp' directory by manipulating the 'sid' parameter in a crafted POST request. If a malicious JSP file is uploaded to the web portal's DocumentRoot, it can be executed as code, enabling remote code execution (RCE) including deployment of web shells. The vulnerability affects both Workflow and Direct components that use the vulnerable servlet. A public proof-of-concept exploit is available.

This repository contains a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2024-25153, a remote code execution vulnerability in Fortra FileCatalyst Workflow 5.x (prior to 5.1.6 Build 114). The main exploit script, 'CVE-2024-25153.py', is a Python program that automates the exploitation process. It first establishes a session with the target FileCatalyst Workflow instance, performs an anonymous login, and then uploads a malicious JSP web shell using a crafted HTTP POST request to the 'servlet/ftpservlet' endpoint. Once the shell is uploaded, the script sends a GET request to the shell, passing an OS command via the 'cmd' parameter, and prints the command output. The payload is a simple JSP web shell capable of executing arbitrary commands. The repository also includes a README with usage instructions, a requirements.txt listing dependencies, and a GPL license file. The exploit requires the target to have anonymous login enabled and is intended for demonstration and research purposes.
