Helm before version 3.14.2 contains an uninitialized-variable flaw in parsing repository-index and plugin-manifest YAML. A YAML document that omits all expected metadata can cause Helm to dereference uninitialized state and panic. The affected Helm SDK interfaces include repository index loading and downloading operations and plugin directory loading. In the Helm client, repository-addition workflows are affected; a malicious installed plugin can trigger a panic on every Helm invocation because known plugins are inspected at startup.
