CVE-2024-26582 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel TLS receive and asynchronous decryption path. The TLS scatter-gather decryption handling does not retain page references associated with the cleartext socket buffer. The asynchronous-decryption completion handler subsequently releases those pages, after which the receive-list processing path can access the released memory while reading a partially consumed socket buffer.
